This week, I want
to introduce a sea food, something you may think strange but I love it very
much. The puffer normally looked long and has two big eyes and big lips ahead. It swims by
its two small short fins and looked cute. It has thorns all around its body,
but it’s not dangerous “in normal situation”. When facing danger, the puffer
will immediately suck the water and air into its stomach, then the puffer will swell
very fast and in the end, looks like a ball with the thorns all around it.
Normal look:
Facing danger:
But actually, the
puffer has very strong virulence. So why can it be a delicious food? There are
still some puffers have no virulence, but very little. The point is, the poisonous
puffer just has poison in specific position, generally the internal organs. So
if you want to try it, you had better turn to the specialized cook!
And a very simple
but delicious way to eat it is sashimi (Just the skin, not the meet.) The puffer’s
skin is very thick and al dente. Just cut the skin into long narrow pieces and
eat it with soya sauce mixed with the garlic, a delicious food is done!

Hello! Hello! Neighbor of the semester!*wave hands" At the beginning I was wondering why people would like to taste this scary-looking and poisonous fish, but thanks to your introduction, now I get it. It looks delicious indeed for I love sashimi. It's so cool to live on a beautiful island and have chances to eat a lot of seafood! I think it's very nice of you loving your hometown, and I am thankful that you share those interest things with us. It's getting colder, hope you stay warm and have fun during the winter vacation. ^_^ Take care!
ReplyDeleteThere is something interesting that I found I had never seen a puffer in its normal appearance. The pictures of puffers we usually see are when they are in dangerous situations. I love eating sashimi very much, too, but I have not eaten puffer yet. After your introduction, I really want to try it!
ReplyDeleteLast but not least, I wish you a happy new year and a happy winter vacation in your lovely hometown, Penghu!
